I was in Pace program 5 months. I was not allowed to go to my dermatology specialist, podiatry specialists or dentist. The primary doctor gave me toe fungus medication which had side effects that would potentially cause current health problems to become more severe. The toe fungus was not causing any problems. This doctor showed the physical therapist an exercise he wanted to be do for back pain. The catch was - my back is quite deformed and the exercises were going to make the back pain worse. He would not let me see a dermatologist. He told me twice he was an expert on skin issues and I didn't need to see a dermatologist. I have a history of skin cancer, but he knew by looking that the cyst was just a cosmetic problem. He did take one cyst off using a very primitive method of dripping dry ice on the cyst. There was no biopsy sent to a lap. When he refused to let me go to a dermatologist, he smarted off to me ' That is what you get when you join Pace." I decided there I would unjoin Pace. Medical care is provided the cheapest way possible, not the best way. It says below this message "defamatory statements might be against the law." Apparently, you are not supposed to say anything bad about the organization. I am just telling what happened to me and what I think. The physical therapy was wonderful, but they were getting so many clients that you wouldn't be able to have PT very often. Other staff members were on overload and were not able to keep up with all the clients.
